Saturday was yet another hectic, but wonderful, day in the quest to raise money towards our centre for abandoned babies in Uganda. Again, I was totally blown away by the sheer bravery of a group of Supporters who managed to raise over £4,000 through a sponsored abseil down Guys Tower in London.

As often happens to us, the weather looked like it might step in and spoil things for while – it was so windy up there, abseil organisers Over The Edge Adventures feared we might have to call the whole thing off.
Luckily, though, we all got the chance to do our abseils and get a few steps further towards our dream.

There were a few sweaty palms among those taking part – seconds before going down, many of the volunteers suddenly started questioning exactly why they were taking on the nail biting task, but all of our intrepid volunteers came back down to earth thoroughly – and justifiably – proud of their efforts.

And our thanks aren’t reserved for the dynamic jumpers – Over The Edge were fantastic, giving everyone plenty of support and reassurance, while Sam Pinkstone was the organisational force behind the event and we are so thankful for all his hard work.
